Marketing Project; Major Impact

This marketing project not only tested my skills of major procrastination but it developed a burning passion for perfection in my work. Resetting my project multiple times and gaining knowledge with every single time I started over.
My group started researching two corporations that did the same thing as wonder paws, one large and one more down to community size. We learned different marketing techniques from both organizations and gathered intel to create a unique campaign with similar impact.
I took most of my inspirations from the organizations "Paws4You" which is a small non-profit found in the greater Miami area. Given the similarities of the organizations I thought that it would be the perfect example to work from. Wonder Paws being up and coming needed major audience reach in a short time, I wanted my works to be easy to use and simple to derive information from. It had to be quick and eye grabbing. Alongside my group, Las Alphas, we developed a color pallet and a font to use, keeping a uniform front throughout every single piece of media, wether digital or print, to keep one aesthetic that was congruent. I think it served our purpose as every single piece represented not only the brand we were advertising but the ideal of love and care we aimed to convey. I was really proud of my brochure and felt that the information was displayed in an adequate way, it fulfilled the goal of being short and sweet. I think it will truly encourage our target audience to donate money.
This project has definitely been a major stepping stone within my media process. I feel more inspired and ready to take on the portfolio, the main part that this will help in is the postcard and print media to promote our short film. The brochure gave me the experience to design pieces with a straight forward purpose and an aesthetic appeal to it. I'm ready to tackle the portfolio.

Fresh Start

For this portfolio I decided to start the blog anew. Last year, I felt that my creativity was suppressed in the group that I had chosen, most of my choices were no longer mine and I felt that I had very little say in what the team chose, I decided to work with a close friend this year, Ana Rubin, after watching her portfolio from last year I soon realized we have a very similar style of film, she was quick to accept and we decided to embark on this journey together.
I want things to be different this year, I want more say in what we put on screen, I want to challenge multiple media conventions and change the aspects of certain social groups. Ana agrees, we have a completely clear vision of where we would like our project to go.
As far as my transition from AS to A level I feel that I have more room to grow, my small class has been encouraging of everything we have done as a group, last year I found it hard to be proud of my work and felt that not many people thought it was good. I felt insecure about the work that I submitted and the process of the class. Given that media is my selected field for a major, I lost myself last year not being sure wether I wanted to continue on this route or not. Mrs. Stoklosa encouraged us to thrive and think outside the box. She inspired me yet again to pursue the career that I felt I wanted, the friends I have made so far have changed my perspective on media and the more that I have learned in this class the more that I feel ready for this portfolio. The more pieces I have studied the more prepared I feel to really make something jaw dropping.
I learned this year that creativity has to run free, one must do what they feel is right for their work, it represents who we are as persons and as the year has progressed I feel that I have embodied the identity of my work, converting myself into the carefree, rule-breaking media student I want to be.
I'm prepared to push boundaries and change opinions, affect the world in a better way, that's what I want my pieces to do. Change perspectives. Change views, give insight into subjects we choose to hide away from. Inform people and break social stigmas, I feel prepared to take on the monster of a project ahead of me, and I'm glad to have my partner and all my friends to join me in making this short film. I'm prepared to work for my vision. I'm willing to shift the standards. Affect the population, fuel the public with art.
